About windsurfsafari.com:
Hello fellow windsurfers and admirers!
Tim Walker here, your windsurfsafari.com web photographer/windsurfer, I am glad you could stop by!
As you might have noticed, margiwindsurfing.com has been renamed to windsurfsafari.com effective July 12th 2008. I thought the name change was in order, now that I am on a worldwide windsurf trip! (Both the new and old domain names will work, and point to the same website.)
The windsurfsafari concept was born from my experiences in El Yaque beach, Margarita, Venezuela. I had been taking ‘on the water’ digital action photos of all my sailing mates before my sailing sessions and posting these photos with a daily blog for the duration of the trip while I was there.
This has recently led me to more and more windsurfing contacts with people throughout the world, and this has expanded my windsurfing travel to see even more of the windsurfing sites that this planet has to offer that everyone talks about!!
So far I have toured some of Europe, and it was so amazing and fun, I have made a grand plan for an expanded windsurfsafari over the next 8 months!!
So to read about the action, check out my semi-daily BLOG page! This is updated nearly every day during my days spent at each location.
I also post any related decent pictures taken on the PHOTO page. These are at a free web viewing JPG resolution of 800x600. If you want the full quality shot, you may simply add the photo(s) of your choice to your shopping cart for $1.99 each, checkout with PayPal or Credit card, and the full 8 mega-pixel photos will be emailed to you to share your windsurfing memories with friends and family!
I often grab some videos as well while out on the water, these short 640x480 AVI Video clips are posted for free on the VIDEOS page. If you have high speed internet, check them out! (They do work on slower connections, but be warned the files can get pretty big/slow.)
The FORUM page allows users to post messages to one another, to share the stoke, and chat about the fun that is windsurfing in Margarita and elsewhere!! Go thru a short registration, and you can be posting in no time! We welcome your creative side!
View the SPONSORS page to see those that have helped make this all possible.
For the various locations see the LOCATION INFORMATION page for details on each of the safari destinations, and you can contact me at the CONTACT page.
Thanks for visiting!
Tim

November 19th, Chillin and the camel trip into the Sinai Mountains!
The wind was lighter for the morning, so I managed to chill out with friends at the center, and enjoyed the company as the day slid by.
I was so lucky to be able to meet up with Irina one last time at the beach that morning, after she had a final swim in the lagoon, [...]
November 17th, Sailing in the waves with Epp…
We got a bit of a break on Monday, and got some wind in the morning for some good rides on the Red Sea! The wind was steady and stronger than it has been, and I finally got down to the center early for a board and sail, and a morning of rides! I got out [...]
November 18th, Fourth week in Egypt, continued..
Well after the great wind yesterday, the light wind continues here, and I am simply not able to short-board, but at least have been able to get out with the big kit for some planning sessions now and then. I am so spoiled from the scheduled wind of Margi, where the mornings are light, while the [...]
November 16th, Start of the fourth week in Egypt.
It’s hard to relate that I have already been here three weeks, and only have one week left to go! The time is just flying by.. The wind has been lighter in its pattern, and I have not gotten out too much, except on bigger kit for some slalom runs at Speedy. This has been fun [...]
November 15th, Third week in Egypt, and my Second Egyptian fancy dress party!
The days have been flying by, and I have been very lazy on the blogging! I am getting very good at the relaxation bit, and so into it, I have been failing to write at all! So time to complete a few reports… The wind has been very light for a big 100Kg sailor like myself, [...]
November 12th, Third week in Egypt, Blue Hole Trip..
The wind has been on the light side for the past few weeks, so we have been working on the low wind practice of the jibes, 360’s, and duck, with a few back-wind thrown in out on the water. The beginners have been diggin it, as it has a solid direction, and this lets them [...]
November 9th, Third week in Egypt, Irina photos..
I got to meet a great gal here from Latvia, named Irina, and we have been sharing the fun of photography, and swapping pictures back and forth. She has some really nice shots, so I have asked her if I can post a few, and these are below;
First a few shots of the beach, a [...]
November 8th, second week in Egypt and the ‘Egyptian Dress’ party..
Saturday we had made a plan for some snorkeling with the group of Estonian friends and Ahmed as our guide in his boat around the area near Dahab, so it was planned that we would meet at the beach, and take a taxi to the other beach up the coast where his boat was waiting. We [...]
November 1st thru the 6th, second week in Egypt..
Well, after the early nice wind we had to start the trip with, the wind got shy, and has not really come back to the ‘normal’ Dahab strength we all are expecting. It is still consistent on the direction though, and there is some, so this is perfect for the beginners, and I have seen [...]
October 27th thru 31st; Sailing and the Halloween party in Dahab!
It has been going pretty well for me for the first week, a bit on the lonely side, but the windsurfing and the friends keeps me occupied and prevents the loneliness from bothering me too much.. Still the travel made me tired, and I was lazy all of Monday and Tuesday, and did not get [...]
